Multi-Sensory Garden Project - For years we thought about how to take advantage of the beautiful grounds at St. Edmond’s Home. The garden includes child and allergy friendly plants and trees landscaped around wheelchair accessible paths. Interactive musical stimuli were installed that are user friendly to the children. A playground and a quiet prayer area provide the borders of the garden that surround the Home.

All Purpose Room - In 1996, a 10,500 square foot addition at a cost of ~ $1.3 million dollars was built which was funded by grants and monies raised by the Women’s Auxiliary.  This building was formally dedicated on May 13, 1997. This addition added six program areas for treatments and therapies, and a large atrium area suitable for large group activities. Various types of specialized equipment were included in the program rooms to enhance medical, social, and physical therapies.

Girl's Hallway

Hallways Redone -

The walls in the hallways of each wing were previously covered in carpet which became unsanitary. The carpet was removed and a new washable surface was installed. Floors and ceilings were also redone. Each hall was painted to carry the theme out from each playroom that adjoined it.

Playrooms Redone in Girls’ and Boys’ Wings - The playrooms are at the end of each wing in which the children often eat, listen to music, relax, and meet visitors. Each room was redone to provide cabinet space for equipment, toys, etc. New  furniture was installed and the rooms were decorated in a cheerful, colorful theme.
